Looking Ahead to 2026

In 2026, the JIU will focus on strengthening the implementation of recommendations, enhancing strategic coordination with United Nations system entities, leveraging technology, and marking a major milestone —the 60th anniversary of the Joint Inspection Unit.

As the only independent external oversight body of the United Nations system, the JIU remains steadfast in promoting efficiency, effectiveness, accountability and best practices. We thank all partners and stakeholders for their continued cooperation and support, and look forward to sustaining this momentum in 2026.

From all of us at the JIU, best wishes for an inspiring holiday season and a joyful, impactful New Year!
