JIU participates in the International Career Day – Bern 11 April 2025

The International Career Day is an event organized every year by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) - UN Division - to inform students enrolled in Swiss universities about international organizations career paths. It is worth noting that between 500 and one thousand visitors came for this event. Some 50 international organizations were represented to this event, including 30 organizations and entities of the United Nations System. This represents a unique and vast spectrum of different organizations from humanitarian agencies like ICRC to more technical institutions such as the CERN and the European Space Agency, for instance. The international financial institutions and the regional development banks were also present.

It is the third participation of the JIU secretariat the event. Our team responded to the questions about the Unit and its mandate raised by the students and other participants who reached out to the JIU stand for explanation and collected the JIU brochure. In terms of visitors’ profile, mostly masters and some bachelor students as well as some individuals with a working experience from all over Switzerland were interested to learn about the Unit and its internship programme. Students who came to the JIU Stand were mainly enrolled in political sciences, international relations, law, international business affairs/economic, and communication.
