Impact story: contributing to the Staff College’s six-week course on change management

The JIU’s review of change management in the United Nations system (JIU/2019/4) has been recognized by the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) as a significant addition to knowledge base on change management across the UN system.   The JIU team was asked to join the faculty on the UNSSC 6-week course on change management with over 60 participants from across the UN system, and deliver a plenary presentation on the role of change management, and the lessons for upcoming change processes. The presentation outlined the patterns of practice of change management across the UN system over the past decade, and outlined they top eight key findings of the review– drawing on the specific examples of good practices from different UN system agencies. The UNSSC is planning to make use of the case studies prepared in the JIU review, and continue to draw on the JIU’s expertise developed through this study.
