The JIU report on policy research uptake presented for the fourth time in 2019

At the invitation of the Geneva Science-Policy Interface and University of Geneva, Inspector Petru Dumitriu, accompanied by Sofia Palli, Evaluation and Inspection Officer, and Hervé Baudat, Research Assistant, presented for the fourth time this year the JIU report entitled “Strengthening policy research uptake in the context of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development”.  The JIU team participated in the Conference “From Science to practice: Strengthening research uptake to achieve the SDGs”, hosted by the World Meteorological Organization on 11-12 December 2019. The presentation was made as part of the panel “Leveraging knowledge to advance the 2030 Agenda”. The report of JIU was also the object of the intervention and support by Dr. Flavia Schlegel, Special Envoy for Science in Global Policy, International Science Council, who called for full implementation of its recommendations by the United Nations organisations.

This event followed other presentations made in 2019, at the initiative of the World Association for Sustainable Development and the University of Sussex (17 June), The Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies and EGAP - Evidence in Governance and Politics (10 October), as well as the Swiss Network of International Studies and the University of Bern (26 October).
