Joint Inspection Unit hosts roundtable on e-learning platforms

On 2 December 2019, the Joint Inspection Unit, in partnership with the Geneva Learning Network, initiated and hosted a roundtable on current practices and trends in the use of e-learning platforms. The event was organized as part of the preparation of the ongoing review on “Policies, programmes and platforms in support of learning; towards more coherence, coordination and convergence” coordinated by Inspector Petru Dumitriu.

Experts and practitioners from the Open University, DiploFoundation, the Centre for Learning Science of Ecole Polytechnique Fédéreale de Lausanne, Coorpacademy, the International Training Center of the International Labour Organisation, LinkedIn, Claned and Wikimedia presented the current state-of-the-art in e-learning platforms and analyses of emerging trends in terms of content, interaction with e-learners, assessment tools and activity reporting. The event was attended by more than 100 registered participants in addition to remote United Nations officials from organisations that are not based in Geneva.
