Joint Inspection Unit invited to the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Academic Council on the United Nations System

The Joint Inspection Unit team that is undertaking a review on “Strengthening policy research uptake in service of the 2030 Agenda” was invited to participate in the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS).

The meeting was hosted by the LUISS University in Rome, on 12-14 July 2018. In addition to the participation in the debates related to global governance in the area of migration, the JIU team met the Board of Directors: Professor Roger Coate, chair elect, Kurt Mills, vice-chair, Stephen Browne, founder, Alistair Edgar and Math Noortmann, current and future executive directors, respectively.

The discussion focused on the dissemination of the survey tailored by JIU for the academic and research community and on the ways and means to build and consolidate systematic links between the United Nations policies’ needs and the research products that originate outside the system.
